WAYS TO CONNECT AND SERVE
Mentors impact our scholars for life. Each scholar is paired with a caring and professional adult who offers guidance, trust, encouragement, and inspiration. Through a one-on-one relationship, mentors assist with life skills development, share experiences and expertise, while modeling positive values.
MAKE IT FEEL LIKE HOME
Residential Volunteers work directly with our residential team members and scholars to assist with administrative tasks while coordinating activities for our busy households.
PROVIDE A MEAL
Our Dinner Helpers either bring a premade or purchased meal and join our scholars and Residential Counselors for a family-style meal, or arrive early to engage with our girls in helping to prepare a meal (and stay to enjoy it, too!).
From basketball practice to forensic competitions to play practice, our scholars are always on the go! Safely transporting scholars to interactive workshops, enrichment opportunities, and extracurricular activities that will help them reach their full potential.
From subject-specific academic tutoring to piano lessons to fitness gurus, we always need tutors to share their special talents with our scholars. Tutors can help oversee daily study sessions or teach new talent.
JOIN OTHER YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
Our Young Professionals Board is an enthusiastic group dedicated to continuing our mission through hosting fundraisers, planning events with our scholars and networking!
Board member, Lisa Mehalick is celebrating her marriage to Tom Shanley!
In lieu of gifts, they are requesting gifts in their honor be made to BHGH of Pittsburgh, Inc. Gifts will support our mission to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others. Funds will be used for operating use – ie, food, clothing, tuition, books & educational supplies, college tuition, gas and utilities at both houses, etc.
